Tottenham Hotspur vs Real Madrid in the Champions League Match

Tottenham Hotspur vs Real Madrid Preview:Tottenham Hotspur hosting Real Madrid tonight in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, trailing 4-0 following last week's first leg on Bernabeu and with extremely slim chances of qualifying the semi-finals.

The UEFA Champions League football match between Tottenham Hotspur vs Real Madrid kicks off 18:45 GMT on 13th April 2011 at White Hart Lane, England.

"Tottenham Hotspur vs Real Madrid"Tottenham Hotspur won their match this weekend against Stoke City with 3-2 score and look as if the side was more spotting on reaching the 4th position in Premier League. Real Madrid and Mourinho are just too qualified to let this match finish with 4 goals margin in favor of Spurs.
Tottenham look done and dusted, as they were beaten 4-0 score in Madrid in the first leg of the tie. They will not be having Peter Crouch for this game as he was suspended following his red card in last week's defeat in Spain. Aaron Lenon may play this game if he is deemed fit, as could Roman Pavlyuchenko in attack.

Real Madrid knows that, if they score even one away goal then it may prove to be too much for the Spurs. The side is in a now rush scoring, but to be honest Real's have not scored only in two of last 14 Champions League away fixtures.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Ricardo Carvalho were all on the bench for that game, while Marcelo, Mesut Ozil and on-loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor missed the game completely.

Real Madrid is one step close to the semis and facing arch rivals Barcelona (if they qualify, but that almost a sure thing) in the Champions League this season. Even a draw or a minimal loss will not matter and will l et the Spanish side advanced the next stage.

Today, they must open to attack and Real Madrid will exploit with their fast key players with a great scorers. I expect both to score today and depending entirely on counter attacks, at least three goals in this match, if not even more.

Possible staring line up:

Tottenham Hotspur: Gomes; Corluka, Dawson, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto; Van der Vaart, Huddlestone, Modric, Bale; Pavlyuchenko and Defoe.

Real Madrid: Casillas; Arbeloa, Albiol, Carvalho, Marcelo; Alonso, Khedira; Kaka, Ozil, Ronaldo and Adebayor.

Nine years later Barcelona finally avenges Champions League elimination

With an overall score of 3-1 the Catalonians win the series against their archrival Real Madrid and step into the final to be disputed at Wembley.

Back in 2002 Barcelona and Real Madrid clashed during the UEFA Champions League in a series that was going to end up being won by the Whites. With a 3-1 score in the aggregate they advanced to the final that they ended up winning, leaving a bitter pill in thousands of Catalonians that claimed for vengeance.

Nine years went by and they never crossed each others' way again, until now. During the 2011 semifinals, Barcelona expected to quench their thirst for revenge, and they were going to end up achieving this ironically by the same score that they had been eliminated: 3-1.

Back then it was Real Madrid who was enjoying of the admiration of football fans worldwide for the good game that they practiced, and that was unanimously considered to be the best team in the world at that time.

But we all know that in sports, just like in everything in life, things change with time. And this was precisely what happened, since Barcelona has taken over Real Madrid's place and is now considered to be a team that is one step above the rest. This was something they were willing to prove against their archrival during the 2011 UEFA Champions League semifinals.

The two game series began in Madrid last Wednesday with a lot of controversy due to a red card on Pepe, which left the Whites with ten players, and consequently more exposed defensively. The Catalonians made the best from this situation by scoring in two occasions through Messi, goals that gave them a 2-0 advantage for the next and last game to be disputed at Barcelona.

With an adverse 2-0 Real Madrid travelled to Barcelona with no other option than scoring at least twice to force the extra time, which meant that they needed to forget about the defensive scheme that they used in game one against Barcelona.

This was the reason why the Whites came out with Ricardo Kaka and Gonzalo Higuain as starters; two offensive players that could help them change the story of the series.

That offensive scheme that Real Madrid decided to implement didn't give the results expected in the first half, something that forced changes to be done in the second one. Mourinho decided to substitute Kaka with Mesut Ozil in an effort to give more depth to his team.

That change did the job and Real Madrid's second half version was a more dangerous one for Barcelona. They even scored a goal through Higuian that was disallowed due to an unintentional foul that Ronaldo committed on Mascherano.

Barcelona knew that they needed a goal soon to secure their classification to the final to be disputed at Wembley, and they were going to so in the right moment: when the Whites were closer to reach to the discount.

A superb pass from Andres Iniesta left Pedro Rodriguez hand to hand with Iker Casillas and Barcelona's striker didn't miss his chance to score. Things were now 3-0 in the aggregate, which forced Real Madrid to score three goals if they wanted to advance to the final, but they were only able to score once through Marcelo Viera and felt eliminated 3-1.

It was a long wait but Barcelona finally got their revenge against their archrivals, but all of this story will only have a happy ending if they clinch the title.

UEFA Champions League – Destination Wembley

Year after year it just keeps getting better; and with the draw complete we just can't find reasons to believe that this year will be the exception. The UEFA Champions has gathered its 32 contenders in 8 eight groups of 4 teams each, and is now impatiently awaiting for the kick-off this coming month, on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th. For the 56th edition of the tournament, the city of London will have the honor to host the final that will be played on May 28th, 2011, at Wembley Stadium with the presence of 90,000 fortunate spectators.

The defending champions, Inter, will fight for one of the two tickets in group A that lead to the knock out phase against Werder Bremen, Tottenham and Twente. The coach who guided them to win the trophy, Jose Mourinho, is no longer with them, but this doesn't make them less dangerous, since they have hired former Liverpools's coach Rafael Benitez, who also knows how to guide a team to a final. Benitez won the competition in 2005 with Liverpool and lost the 2007 final to Milan.

In group B we have Olympique Lyonnais, Benfica, Schalke 04, and Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Last year Olympique knocked down Real Madrid, and for this year's edition they have made a strong investment of 22 million Euros to sign midfielder Yohann Gourcuff, actions that show that they are not in the competition to simply be part of this magnificent event, but with the intention of improving past performances. Schalke 04 will have the attraction of their sticker Raul, who will play his first season with a team that is not Real Madrid. By the way, he has scored 66 goals in European competitions. The Spaniard is called to lead the team with his experience.

Manchester United, Valencia, Rangers and Bursaspor make up group C, where the English depart as clear favorites to end up in first place. The Spanish team has lost two of their best players: David Villa to Barcelona, and David Silva to Manchester City, but are confi dent in what Soldado and Mata can do. They will probably define the winner of the second ticket to the next round against Rangers, as on the paper Bursaspor is the weakest team, but previous competitions have shown that you just can't take anything for granted.

Group D has Barcelona, one of the favorites to win the competition, and will face Panatinaikos, Copenhague, and Rubin Kazan. The Spanish champions made an oath to their fans putting all their effort to make it to the final, after that painful defeat in the semifinal against Inter last season. This year they will count with the assistance of David Villa, who arrived to Barcelona in exchange of 42 million Euros with Valencia.

Last edition's runner-up, Bayer Munich, where really close to finish this past season with a treble, but Inter got in between and defeated them 2 to 0 in the final. The squad commanded by Louis van Gaal will be one of the toughest teams to defeat, this means that Roma, Basil ea and Clucj will have an interesting dispute for the second place in group E.

With the same authority that Chelsea commands the Premier League, it is expected that they easily advance to the next round, without finding much resistance in Olympique de Marseille, Spartak and MSK Zilina, teams that complete group F.

Two of Europe's greatest clubs will clash for the second year in row: Milan and Real Madrid, making group G one of the most appealing to watch. With 7 and 9 Champions League titles respectively, the show is guaranteed. Ajax and Auxerre complete the group. The fans from the Amsterdam squad will enjoy again of this competition after five years of absence.

Last but not least we have group H, with the surprise of Sporting Braga, responsible of eliminating Sevilla in the playoff round. Arsenal, Shakhtar and Partizan complete the group. The English team recently gave the fans the good news involving their captain: despite the interest shown by Barcelona, Cesc will lead the team throughout this season.

"These are the champions, die meister, die besten, les meilleurs quipes!"

Real Madrid vs Tottenham Hotspur Clash in 1st Leg Quarter's Champions League

Real Madrid vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview: The UEFA Champions League first leg of the quarter-finals for football game between Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur kicks off at 18:45 GMT on 05th April 2011 Santiago Bernabeu, Spain.

Tottenham Hotspur might be Champions League underdogs going into this quarter-final first leg clash but European manager Jose Mourinho battalion Real Madrid are positively showing signs of the jitters ahead of Tuesday night's clash.

On this Saturday night, when Real Madrid lost at home ground against Gijon with 0-1 goal score. A victory that made the eight point's difference between Real and Barcelona, which practically killed Madrid's chances for a title this year.

Mourinho did not lose 150 home games with four clubs (Porto, Chelsea, Inter and Real Madrid) an admirable achievement that perhaps no coach can show off with. But, this loss also put a stop to these nine years unbeaten at home.

Real Madrid ha s played fifteen Spain Primera Division matches this season on Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. On home ground, Real Madrid has won fourteen, drawn zero and lost one matches. This ranks Los Galacticos 1st in home team performance in the Spain Primera Division.

Real Madrid has a horrible statistics, losing 4 and drawing 1 of the last 5 home matches. The key players Ronaldo, Benzema and Marcello will miss out the game.

Tottenham have a chance to play in front of home fans in London, if they reach the final. The side has missed their chance to get closer to the 4th position in the Premier League, when they tied their match on Saturday against Wigan.

Spurs has kept two clean sheets in the last sixteen English Premier League matches this season away from home, before the match on Saturday night, which apparently shows defense problems. On away ground, Tottenham Hotspur has won six, drawn five and lost five matches. This ranks Spurs 3rd in away team perf ormance in the English Premier League.

Tottenham key players have injury worries and go into this clash without the centre-backs. Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and Younes Kaboul are all out while right-back Alan Hutton is ruled out for the season.

Season 2010/2011 Soccer Teams Of the Year

Barcelona

Josep Guardiola has turned Barcelona into the best football club in Spain for the past couple of seasons. Real Madrid was top of the pile but recent seasons haven't seen consistency at Madrid and Barcelona has triumphed. Barcelona are currently top of the Spanish La Liga by 5 points, ahead of Real Madrid. Barcelona earns many plaudits for the way the play the game, the beautiful way'. With Xavi and Iniesta in the heart of the Barcelona midfield, they have two of the best passers of the game and they are the heart beat of the Barcelona side.

Xavi and Iniesta have been phenomenal this season, but as always, there is one man at Barcelona who always steals the show. Lionel Messi, 43 goals in 35 starts already this season is a phenomenal record. Lionel Messi is one of the best players in the world and possibly the best of this era. His ability to keep the ball away from defenders and to open up defences with his dribbling has the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the game. Words can't describe how good Messi is and his sensational form this season has seen the success of Barcelona this season, domestically in the La Liga and in the Champions League. Not only has Lionel Messi been in formidable form, but the recent acquisition of David Villa this season who has 21 goals in 36 games himself has seen the attacking threat of Barcelona prove too much for any side this season.

Not only does it help having two strikers that can create a goal from nothing, but they have a midfield that works tirelessly when off the ball that makes it very easy for Barcelona to defend as shown in the recent 4-3 aggregate win over Arsenal in the Champions League. Again they are favourites to win the Champions League despite being knocked out last year to Inter Milan, Barcelona brushed aside Arsenal at the Nou Camp and look unbeatable at home in the competition.

Not to mention that Barcelona play Real Madrid in the Spanish Cup final in April that they happen to be favourites for that as well. Barcelona's attacking flair and ability to keep the ball in all circumstances under any amounts of pressure is the main attribute for their success. Puyol is the leader at the back for Barcelona and he's been missing for a couple of months through injury but they still look resolute and assured in defence, emphasising the side Guardiola has formed to be labelled one of the best teams in world football.

Barcelona possesses 7 regular Spanish internationals that have won the European Championships (2008) and World Cup (2010) in succession to dominate the national competitions. These 7 internationals consisting of: Puyol, Pique, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Pedro and David Villa, thrown in with Dani Alves, Lionel Messi, Eric Abidal and substitute Spanish keeper Victor Valdes, you're inevitably going to get a squad that's near enough perfection.

Real Madrid

Despite Barcelona's dominance, Real Madrid have ran Barcelona close and have a superior side of their own which consists of the worlds superstars which came at a hefty price. Cristiano Ronaldo was signed for 80 million pounds, Kaka was purchased for 50 million pounds and Benzema was 30 million pounds. Oh, and combined with the signings of Mesut Ozil, Sami Khedira, Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso. The forward seven of the team that has been glued together with Iker Casillas, Pepe, Marcelo and Sergio Ramos, it's obvious to say you're going to have a team with ability in abundance.

Despite the list of megastars Real Madrid have at their disposal, Real Madrid have yet to really explode this season but nevertheless, they still have got a good chance of winning the treble this season. That statement sums up Real Madrid this season, despite not playing at full potential consistently; they're still competing for 3 major trophies which is frightening for the clubs competing against them.

Jose Mourinho is in his first season at Real Madrid and his first in Spain. He has a big fixture coming up in the form of Lyon in the last 16 of the Champions League which astonishingly, they've been knocked out at this stage of the competition for the last 6 years running despite Real Madrid's force. Jose Mourinho's arrival in Real Madrid was very much with the Champions League in mind having won the competition with Inter Milan in the previous season.

The Champions League knockout phase will have the 2010 final rematch as main dish

Barcelona versus Arsenal is the other rematch from last year's quarter-finals that will make the crowd vibrate in the round of 16.

Is it really necessary to explain why the UEFA Champions League is the most prestigious club competition that exists in the World? Can't we just refer to the facts by looking at the round of 16 and the top class games that it will bring? The draw that took place on Friday at the FIFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland paired games that have become classics in recent editions, such as Barcelona from Spain versus Arsenal from England or Real Madrid from Spain against Lyon from France. And it also faced the reedit from last season's final between Inter from Italy and Bayer Munich from Germany.

The knockout phase will begin on February 15th when Milan from Italy receives Tottenham from England, and Schalke 04 from Germany travels to Spain to play against Valencia. The rematch will be held on March 9.

The round of 16 will continue on February 16th with Roma from Italy versus Shakthar from Ukraine, as well as the rematch from the 2006 final and 2010 semifinal between Arsenal from England and Barcelona from Spain at the Emirates Stadium in London. The second game of the series will be played on March 8.

February 22nd will pair Real Madrid and Lyon, along with Copenhagen from Denmark versus Chelsea from England. On March 16 the Spanish team will return the visit to the French club while the Danish squad travels to Stamford Bridge.

And last but not least the so awaited rematch between Inter and Bayer will be played on February 23 at the Guiseppe Meazza, Italy and on March 15 at the Allianz Arena, Munich. On the same match days Manchester United from England will visit Marseille from France first, and the French will return the visit after.

Some interesting facts are that Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho will have a double challenge: make his team ad vance to the next round that has been so resisted to them, as Real Madrid has a streak of 6-seasons without reaching the quarter-finals. And Mourinho will also try to win his third Champions League trophy with a different team. Let's remember that he did it first with Porto from Portugal in 2004 and with Inter this past season.

Real Madrid is winless after six games against Lyon. Last season the Spanish team felt victim to them in the knockout phase, after losing 1-0 in their visit to Gerland Stadium and tying 1-1 in the Santiago Bernabeu. And if we go back to the 2005-06 and 2006-07 Champions League group stage Real Madrid suffered two defeats at France, and were unable to take their revenge at home, where they tied both times.

The 2010 Final rematch between Inter and Bayer will not have Mourinho in the defending champion's bench spicing things up with personality, but this two-game series won't need him to fire up the German team's desire for reveng e.

Former Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez came to the city of Milan to replace Mourinho after his departure to Madrid. Benitez already knows how winning a Champions League title feels like, as he did it with Liverpool in the 2005 Final. What he doesn't know is if he will be in charge for that game, because Inter President Massimo Moratti is not happy with his team's situation in the local league, where they occupy the seventh seat in the standings with 23 points, 13 points away from the leader and archrival Milan.

Coach Arsene Wegner youngsters from Arsenal will want to wash their face after the resounding 4-1 loss suffered at the Camp Nou in last season's quarter-finals, for a 6-3 in the aggregate for Barcelona. In front they will have a more matured team that his year already defeated Real Madrid 5-0 with a brilliant exhibition of top class football, and whose players made a public commitment with their fans of reaching the 2011 Final at Wembley, Lon don.

Everything is ready to find out who will make it into Europe's top eight, and revenge is in the air.

Big signings: Moomaw in the first quarter, more pragmatic Real Madrid

Soccer jerseys supply store report:

Last summer, Florentino in the Real Madrid club president once again, the exception set off high-profile terrorist project to build the Galaxy II, C Luo, Kaka, Alonso, Benzema and other players have to vote. However, the Real Madrid transfer nearly 260 million euros of investment, but failed to replicate the early 21st century Galacticos one when the image of the team results and the club's double harvest. This summer, the flagship holding Mourinho La Liga Real Madrid continue to be the big burn on the transfer market, but its strategy from the previous quarter signings, "the pursuit of fame" gradually transformed into today's "emphasis on practical results" .

Early before the World Cup, Real Madrid had already basically locked Canales (Racing Santander), and Dumas Calabria (Bin Feijia) two transactions, the latter to 25 million euros this summer, joined the rank of Galacticos the most expensive new aid. After the World Cup, with the German team's stunning perf ormance, Germanic guy became the transfer market in Hong steamed bun. Real Madrid 14 million euros first to check in Stuttgart, Germany midfielder Hedi La, and seriously injured in the confirmation card, after seizing Ozil one-year contract with Werder Bremen left the soft underbelly of success to 18 million euros in the relatively low Price hired a substitute Kaka. In addition, the number one confidant of Jose Mourinho from Chelsea to vote Carvalho (800 million euros), Christoph Metzelder is also seen as a return to the Bundesliga, the team defense experience a useful complement.

If large amount of money brought in just in the Champions League aspirations to the Jose Mourinho is the new season Florentino further two major initiatives to build the Galaxy, then bid farewell to Raul, Guti, veteran of two feats, you can see that Real Madrid spit Old satisfied that the new, the pursuit of younger determination. Consecutive missed two seasons with the La Liga champions , Champions League quarter-finals for 6 years after the first quarter Moomaw clearly more worthy of our expectations.

Bosque: Mike Mussina, or into a new scapegoat for Real Madrid will be fired without a crown

Soccer jerseys supply store report:

Today, Spain is not all sports headlines after 45 years to regain the Champions League Inter Milan, but Mourinho to join Real Madrid. Florentino go around, said: "If I sign Mourinho, Real Madrid really need it is because he"; "No doubt, he is the world's best coach, he was born to win people. Real Madrid dressing room needs such a strong character, iron-fisted coach. He is a guarantee of Real Madrid win the future. "

Last year, NetEase Interview Bosque, the Spanish coach of the Spanish show NetEase users 11 team selection

All club members will not agree to the idea of President. Many of them have been predicted, Mourinho's football philosophy will become the world's most boring Santiago Bernabeu stadium. No one understand why the introduction of Florentino spend millions each year in addition to players, but also put a lot of money squandered on the contract termination and contract coach. Why not give Florentino a little more time for the idea of a r eal football coach into the team.

The reason is simple. Because the President is a smart guy, he needs to do poorly the team to the coaches fault, blame him. He will never admit that he does not understand football, even though it is an indisputable fact. His pre-season mistakes in the transfer market, need a coach after the season for his commitment. He got 200 million 6 million euros in the high stakes, only to leave empty-handed. The most ridiculous is that he invited the stars pay big bucks from the franchise began to depreciate the moment. C Lo had joined Real Madrid is worth the world, the world's best players wore the halo. Now the players in FIFA and UEFA on the list, he was Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Harvey, Drogba, Robben and Diego Milito, the five did not even discharged. The same tragedy also took place in this year, almost did not play a few games, but was twice booed Meiling Kaka cell body. Oh! By the way, do not forget there is Karim Benzema. The v alue of 36 million stars of the future, once thought to be beyond the alien striker Ronaldo became the world standard, but because of the Galacticos play on the ball, not even did not get a ticket to South Africa. Florentino Pellegrini is really just another scapegoat.

The Most Popular Soccer Jerseys

Every year what jerseys are the most popular tends to change depending on not only the design of the shirts and how the team is performing but also who signs for the club. The success of teams on the park tends to be the biggest indicator as to what soccer shirts will be the biggest sellers but this year we have seen the players who sign for clubs influencing the shirt sales more and more, before it is known whether they will be successful for the club.

The best example of this can be seen with Real Madrid this. Real Madrid spent over 200 million in the summer signing some of the best players in the world, the most notable of which were Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo in particular caused a huge soccer jersey buying frenzy when he was signed for a world record fee. Real Madrid shirts sold poorly last season with fortunes on the pitch not living up to their high standards, but this year Real Madrid shirts are set to outsell every other soccer kit on the market.

Numerous sports figures and actors have taken paternity tests

Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a paternity test to confirm the parentage of his son, thought to be born as the result of a brief liaison with a Los Angeles waitress. The Portuguese football player, who is one of the most expensive players in the history of football plays for Real Madrid. He has not said who the mother is, but asked for paternity testing to be carried out to confirm whether or not he was the father of the child.

The mother of the boy gave birth in early 2010, as the results of the paternity tests showed. Ronald declined to give any further comment other than to state basic details including that he was the one and only guardian of the boy. There have been rumours that the football player found a surrogate mother to carry the baby, but as it now transpires, this may not have been the case.

The baby was born on 17th June €when Real Madrid played against the Ivory Coast in the World Cup. A companion of Ronaldo's said that Ronaldo had approached the waitress while staying in Los Angeles. When she discovered that she was pregnant, she immediately got in touch with Real Madrid manager Jose Mendes to inform him she was pregnant with Cristiano Ronaldo's child. Ronaldo requested that a paternity test be carried out to see whether he was really the father of the child. Once the results of the paternity tests were revealed, he gave the woman a substantial amount of money (Allegedly ten million pounds) and took his son with him to Portugal.

It has been rumoured that Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Ronaldo is acting as the main care taker of the child, who has been named Cristiano. His father claims that he will not say who the boy's mother is until he is eighteen years old, by which point should the child wish to track down his mother, he can do so and will be assured that she is living very well with the money she was given.

Numerous sports figures and actors have taken paternity tests. Hollywood actor Mel Gibson demanded that a paternity test be taken back in June 2009, when he suspected that the child being carried by his pregnant girlfriend was not his. Later that year, fellow actor Keanu Reeves underwent paternity testing to confirm he was not the father of an alleged "secret child." The results of the test were negative. Other celebrities who have taken the tests include golfer Tiger woods, who last year had a paternity action lawsuit filed against him by a woman who insisted that he was the father of her nine year old son, and who asked that he undergo DNA testing to prove that this was true
